The Intangible God Revealed

There is a special place in our lives that allows for God to reveal himself in multiple ways especially regarding our senses. Not only is he the creator of every fiber of our being but he has paved the way for showing us how he can be revealed and in what ways he has supernaturally performed the greatest miracles of all time . We may not see God but through many experiences I know he is real. I can give you so many examples as to why I am still here today. It is composed of the grace, will and purpose that I have that is still unfolding on this earth. I would like to describe to you in what ways on an everyday basis we can sense God when he is not tangible like everything else .

First, let’s start with what Intangible means.

Intangible -unable to be touched or grasped,not having physical presence

I John 4:20 (MSG version) states, “If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests,abominates) his brother [in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother,whom he has seen,cannot love God.Whom he has not seen.”

That scripture is crazy right. If you can’t harbor and resolve any issues with your fellow man and you seem to have a hateful heart you can’t love God.For God is love.We don’t have the ability to see God on a daily basis but in some ways God lets us know that he is still here through having an intimate relationship that allows us to connect with him through various things until he returns.

Here is a short and sweet in depth analysis of how God is revealed through some of the things that we use everyday which are our five senses.There are some people in the world that don’t have the ability to use some of these senses so consider yourself blessed if you have all of them.

Noted below are our five senses and how God has been revealed through them:

TOUCH:

God can not be physically touched as he is not present in a physical body anymore.Instead the holy spirit consumes and comforts us if we have received him.When Christ was present he was able to heal people with the touch of his hands and when other people touched him (i.e. the woman with the issue of blood she was instantly healed when she believed and touched just the hem of his garment (Luke 8:43-48) which showed the magnificence and ability to do things that no one else has.

SIGHT

After Jesus was  resurrected from the dead he appeared to Mary Magdalene first and then to two disciples.From that moment I’m sure that many people doubted Mary and the two disciples for having seen Jesus after his public crucifiction.Once someone has died  and especially if I have witnessed with my own two eyes regarding their death I am going to believe that but somehow God shows us otherwise.I am amazed at how someone has been crucified, raised from the dead and being able to reveal himself for a short time before he transcended into heaven. After the transition he is able to sit on the right hand of God, the father to this day (Mark 16:9-19). In miracles he also helped in healing the blind man that pressed his way through the crowd when everyone want to shut him down.How many can attest that sometimes you can’t shut up when you want a breakthrough or miracle to happen in your life.Everyone will not understand but as long as you press your way towards the mark believe that he can handle that breakthough or miracle at any moment when he gets ready.

HEARING:

God is often heard through his word by speaking through multiple people that was able to speak into the hearts of 40 men to form what is now known as the bible,sometimes through audible voice and in a still small voice.

TASTE:

Not in a food sense but can be “tried” that he is alright (old Southern Gospel song) and as suggested in Psalms 34:8 that we should taste and see that the lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”.

SMELL

We can not smell Jesus.This sense can not be available for our review.

 

As you can tell there are many ways that God can be consumed through our senses.I’m sure you never really thought of connecting your senses with God.I never thought about it either before God gave me this.Have you ever had any situations through your senses where God really revealed himself to you (i.e. a miracle or revelation ?
