Last weekend I had the honor of speaking on a panel along with other amazing women of God at “Dopeology:Dominating Opposition while pursuing Excellence” event hosted by Cortney Day.When an event like this is hosted you must understand there was bound to be opposition of us traveling there and actually getting the event together.
Although the event didn’t start as planned (beyond our control) I saw something so beautiful and that was the community of sisterhood pitching in together to make sure that everything was set up and ready. It was so great to fellowship with other like minded women and share laughs, favorite places to shop and plug in our own businesses.
We celebrated each other and uplifted one another through the word of God and made sure that no one was left empty handed, physically and spiritually.A few of my favorite attributes were the photo propped back drops and the writing on our mini mirrors which indicated a scripture or phrase that identifies how God sees us.
There were so many gems spilled at Dopeology. Here are a few notes that I took along with the panelist questions and my reply to them:
“See yourself as God sees you” -Krystle Barrington
“A relationship with God doe snot exempt opposition but invites it” -Cortney
Jeremiah 29:11
“When God saw you he approved you”-Cortney Day
“The more you learn about God the more you learn about yourself” -Cortney Day
Matthew 16:31
Your mission and mouth is important
Faith and fear cannot reside in the same place
Unmovable,unshakable and abounding
Panelist questions and my answers/remarks:
How do you dominate your distractions ?
I have a vast list of scriptural rebuttal that poses as a tactic against the enemy. The word of God is sharper than a two edged sword(Hebrews 4:12) and it is used as arrows to go against the grain and every scheme or lie of the enemy it shuts it down.
How can you distinguish the difference if it’s our voice or Satan’s ?
We should look at ourselves internally and be honest with ourselves in who we are and what we are doing at that moment (Holy spirit conviction-John 16:8) and when we have a personal relationship with God we will know that Satan never has anything good to say but it is always negative.Having the ability to discern his voice helps in this area.
Someone approached me to join the evangelism ministry. What should I do ?
That’s great to hear ! Ultimately other people see something within us that we don’t.or is usually a form of confirmation of what the Lord has been telling us all along.Whether you join the evangelism ministry or not it is our goal to be fishers of men (Matthew 4:19) and baptize those in the name of the father, son and holy spirit (Matthew 28:19)
Who do you talk to when you need help ?
Funny thing is my church,Victory Church ATL just wrapped up a series on Friends. One of the questions was who were our closest friends and I didn’t even have to think long. The answer is Jesus. I’ve literally been in awe of God and his faithfulness towards me and the rest of his children on this earth.I know him as father, friend, savior and etc.and when I am sad or mad the first person I run and talk to is Abba and I quietly sit quietly, cry my eyes out and he comforts me every time.
