In this digitally advanced society it seems as though there is always a smartphone coming out each month updated with the some of the best camera quality we could have ever imagined. Having a phone that can take irresistible pictures is essential for daily life and selfies of course but there is nothing like having your own DSLR camera ready to seize the day and capture each moment as you see fit.
It’s not everyday that you can just pick up a lense (considering that they cost hundreds of dollars unless you bid on them using Ebay) but for those that are considering investing in something that can take your blog to the next level you must be intentional in how you shoot and videograph. Now I just got onto the wave of this prime lense that I purchased but it also comes with some special features as detailed below but let me first tell you briefly about my DSLR story.
I was gifted my very first DSLR by one of my organization supervisors, Mrs. Bonisha Porter who I used to check in with a lot about life and unbeknownst to me she told me that she believed in my dream. Now I can’t remember all that I said as we met but I knew that I wanted to capture and use my own equipment if necessary to capture visual content through mass mediums.
Although I had to purchase my own lenses(18-55 and 75-300 mm lenses) I assumed that they would be great investments considering I was a Mass Communication major, essentially had a blog and wanted to create content perfect for those that consumed it. What also helped is that I took a photography course in college that assisted me with getting familiar with specialized cameras and editing content.
Since you are reading this I wanted to tell you in detail about my new lense and why you needed this like yesterday.
Here are my 50 mm specs:
- Its a prime lense meaning it is only set to focus on a fixed focal length (There are other prime lenses such as 24 mm,35 mm,85 mm etc.)
- Great for up close and personal shots (no zoom focus)
- STM (when your camera is in Auto Focus during video it will not make any sounds)
- light weight
- usable with Digital Selective Lense Reflector cameras (ASP-C cameras)
- Great for bluring backgrounds for a more crisp focus on the object at hand
